FAQ
Where does Deckmate get its information?
Deckmate doesn't run its own card database. Everything comes live from these sites and projects, and they deserve the credit.
- Scryfall
- Card search, card images, set lists, creature and other subtype lists, the commander search, Explore Scryfall, Fits commander, Find a commander, Add a card, basic lands, and the Game Changers list.
- Scryfall Tagger
- The Roles filter and role counts (ramp, card draw, removal and so on). Tags are written by Scryfall's community.
- TCGplayer
- Card prices, the price filters and estimated deck cost. Deckmate reads TCGplayer market prices through Scryfall.
- EDHREC
- EDHREC picks (recommended cards, how many decks play them and their synergy scores), deck themes, and the Top commanders list on the start page. cEDH decks also get EDHREC's picks after EDHTop16's.
- PDHREC
- PDHREC picks for Pauper Commander decks (recommended cards and how many decks play them). PDHREC is an open-source project; the format's rules are at PDH Homebase.
- EDHTop16
- The top cEDH commanders on the start page and EDHTop16 picks for cEDH decks (the cards tournament decks with your commander play most).
- Commander Spellbook
- Infinite combos and their bracket ratings on the review page, and the Add combos tab.
- Moxfield, Wizards of the Coast's account
- The Commander precon decklists, collected by the CommanderPrecons project on GitHub.
- MTGJSON
- A built-in backup list of commanders, used for search if Scryfall can't be reached.
- Google Fonts
- The Spectral and Figtree typefaces.
- Netlify
- Hosts this website and passes requests to Commander Spellbook, PDHREC and EDHTop16.

Where are my decks saved?
On your own device, in your browser. Deckmate has no accounts and no server of its own, so nobody else can see your decks, and they won't follow you to another browser or phone. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them. To move a deck, use Copy decklist and paste it into Upload deck on the other device.
When you use a feature, the card names involved are sent to the site that provides it, for example to Scryfall when you search or to Commander Spellbook when it checks your deck for combos.
How was AI used to make Deckmate?
Deckmate is made by Derrific Technology LLC. AI tools were used to build the website and to produce the artwork, including the logo.
AI doesn't run while you use the site. Card recommendations, roles, prices and combos come from the sites listed above, and the estimated bracket is a fixed set of rules (Game Changer count, combo ratings and average mana value), not an AI judgment.
Is Deckmate free?
Yes, and every feature will stay free for everyone. If Deckmate has helped you build a deck you love and you'd like to help cover hosting, you can leave a tip on Ko-fi. Tipping is completely optional and doesn't unlock anything.
The Support link only takes you to Ko-fi when you click it. Deckmate doesn't load anything from Ko-fi while you use the site.
